Survivors Lindsey Lemke And Kyle Stephens Slam Michigan State on New Day: ‘They Should Clean House’

A large number of the 100+ ladies approaching to censure sexual abuser Larry Nassar guarantee that his activities were supported and abetted by staff individuals at Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics. At the point when asked by New Day's Alisyn Camerota what should happen to the general population who did not resist convey Nassar to equity, survivors Lindsey Lemke and Kyle Stephens were unfaltering in their judgment

“I think [MSU and USAG] should clean house,” Lemke said. “They don’t care. They would rather cover up their reputation than try to help us, and it hurts and it’s really sad for us.”
“There’s people who need to be held accountable for their actions,” Stephens added. “Whether that’s in a civil lawsuit or in criminal court, something needs to happen.”
Stephens also censured these organizations for their lack of transparency.
“Who’s Larry Nassar’s boss?” she said. “In 2014, [Nassar] was supposed to have restrictions and those never got enforced. It doesn’t take very long to figure out where that broke down, but we’ve never heard of it and it’s been a year and a half.”
Camerota asked the women what should be done moving forward to prevent this type of serial sexual abuse from happening, to which Lemke responded that young women and girls need to be taken at their word when they say they are being treated inappropriately.
“We need to change the way that people respond to children when they cry for help,” she said. People take advantage of little kids because they think that, you know, we’re not smart enough to understand what’s happening, and… we must be mistaken.”
“When a child comes to you and they need help, just help them,” Lemke added.
