Loic Remy Claims Las Palmas Coach Treated Him ‘Like A Piece Of S**t’ After Being One Minute Late To Team Dinner
Former Chelsea striker Loic Remy is NOT a fan of his Las Palmas coach Paco Jemez.
He claims that Jemez treated him ‘like a piece of s**t’ after being dropped from the squad due to turning up to a team dinner one minute late.
Las Palmas are currently bottom of La Liga, and although Remy is the club’s leading goalscorer this season with five goals, he has not featured since December 20. And the Frenchman has been excluded from every matchday squad since Jemez took charge on December 27.
Remy has since returned to France and is refusing to head back to Las Palmas.
“The coach treated me like a piece of s**t when all this happened,” Remy told La Provincia.
“I never expected to be in France now – I expected to be playing and scoring goals for my team and trying to get them out of this bad situation.”
The 31-year-old, who has been banished alongside Moroccan forward Oussama Tannane, claims Jemez’s treatment of him is unjustified after what he regards as a minor disciplinary issue.
“Tannane and I were in the hotel and we arrived late to the dinner, one minute late. We have no excuse because as professionals we need to be on time but it’s also no excuse for a coach to kick two players out like this,” he added.
“The coach spoke to the president and he came to speak to us but he (Jemez) didn’t have enough balls to stand up to me and tell me why he didn’t want me.”
